Description
Future of Proof of Stake; How will it transform blockchain?
Event Overview
Proof of stake (PoS) is attracting a lot of attention these days, with Ethereum switching over from proof of work (PoW). PoS is an alternative process for transaction verification on a blockchain. Recently, it is increasing in popularity and being adopted by many cryptocurrencies, for several key reasons. PoS systems do not need to consume large amounts of energy as PoW, while still securing the network. Also, by staking one's coins, one can earn passive income from holding crypto, far more than other traditional savings methods. Many new companies are being created to help users receive income from staking or delegating coins.
Come listen to representatives from several PoS coins talk about the present and future of PoS!
ANNOUNCEMENT: Incognito is a fully sharded PoS chain focused on privacy. They will be giving away one of their Nodes (full validator hardware, $400 retail) to a lucky guest at this event! Check out their web site for more info (product videos, unboxing, etc).

About Staking
It is estimated that ~25% of the total cryptocurrency market (~$25 billion today) will use proof-of-stake (PoS) as a security model by the end of 2019. Investors of PoS currencies can participate in governance and collect staking rewards of $2.5 BN+ annually.
Staking is the process of buying and holding coins with the goal of receiving interest. It is done using a designated wallet on a network that uses the PoS consensus algorithm or some modification of it. Where staking differs from mining is in the fact that it doesn’t require a powerful machine, nor do you have to invest large sums of money to be competitive. Typically you can choose to stake yourself or to delegate a validator which will stake on your behalf.
